Love Moved First

As you will come to find out, music is the language of my soul! I love the way that music can not only speak to my heart, but can put into words what I am feeling. Through the lyrics of a song and a beautiful melody, I can express my thoughts so much better than my words ever could. On that note 🎵 (pun intended!), I have had the song “Love Moved First” by Casting Crowns, on replay in my head for the past two days. Take a look at the chorus…

You didn’t wait for me to find my way to You
I couldn’t cross that distance even if I wanted to
You came running after me
When anybody else would’ve turned and left me at my worst
Love moved first

Casting Crowns

Without Jesus we are lost! Our sin separates us from God. But God didn’t leave us without a way of redemption. He sent Jesus, His son, into the world to die on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. The blood of Jesus covers all our sins so that we can be made right in the sight of a holy God. On our own, we can never be good enough or do enough good things to earn our way into a right relationship with God. Our heavenly Father did not leave us in our sins. He loves us so much, that he sent Jesus to take our place, to take the punishment of our sins upon Himself.

Romans 5:6-8

6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Why? Why would He do that when my sins are so many? Why would he want me? I’m not good enough. I can never do enough to repay Him.

Friend, let me tell you, there is nothing too big, too terrible that you can’t be forgiven. You are never too far gone that the love of the Father can’t bring you home. In fact, God will not only forgive you and offer you redemption through Jesus if you believe in Him, He chases after you! He will pursue your heart and seek you out in order to bring you to Himself. Jesus did not come to save the righteous, but to seek and to save the lost!

Luke 19:10

10 For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.

Matthew 18:12

12 If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them wanders away, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost?

There is no better time to come to the Father than now! What are you waiting for? He is there with arms open wide, to welcome you home. There is no safer place than the arms of the Father. So, no matter where you are – if you’re hearing these words of truth for the first time, if you believe but have fallen away, if you need a re-kindling of passion in your soul for your Savior, today is the day! Today is the day to make a decision to leave the past in the past and look forward to your new life in Christ!
